I did not get my verification code

Check the number you typed. It needs the country code and no spaces — a US number is +1 followed by exactly ten digits, for example +14155552671. Typing an area code twice is the usual culprit, and the app will now tell you so.

If the number is right and nothing arrives, wait for the countdown on the screen and tap Resend. Codes normally arrive in a few seconds but can take a minute on a weak signal.

I am not getting notifications

First, make sure you are actually subscribed: open Browse Current Events and check the event shows Unsubscribe rather than Subscribe.

Then check your phone is allowing them. On iPhone that is Settings → Notifications → Event Msgs, with Allow Notifications on and Sounds on. On Android it is Settings → Apps → Event Messages → Notifications. A Focus or Do Not Disturb schedule will also hold notifications back.

I paid but my event still says it is not paid

Open the app and leave it open for a moment. A purchase is confirmed with the store after the payment completes, and if that was interrupted — by closing the app, or losing signal — it finishes the next time the app runs. If the event is still marked unpaid after that, write to us with the date of purchase and we will find the transaction. You will not be charged twice; a repeated purchase of the same event is recognised and does not take further payment.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled by them rather than by us. On iPhone use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use Google Play's order history. If a purchase failed for a technical reason, write to us and we will help you make the case.

Can I edit or delete an update I posted?

No, and that is deliberate. Once an update is posted it cannot be changed or removed, because subscribers have already been told what it said and a record that can be quietly rewritten is worth nothing. Post a correction as a new update. Deleting the whole event, which an organizer can do once the end date has passed, removes its updates with it. Every event is also deleted automatically, with its updates and subscriptions, 30 days after it ends.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: tap the sign-out arrow in the top right corner and choose Delete account. It happens immediately.

If you no longer have the app installed, write to support@eventmessages.com from the email address on the account and we will do it for you within 30 days. Either way, see Delete your account for exactly what is removed and what is kept.
